If you are looking for varied and beautiful scenery then you can look no further than the Highlands of Scotland. There is a wide array of sporting activities to undertake or for those of you who like a more relaxed pace, fantastic views and an abundance of wildlife.

Why not visit Inverness in your motorhome? The city of the highlands has loads of shops and an excellent leisure centre with lots of indoor activities. Nearby you have Culloden Battlefield and Loch Ness (watchout for Nessie). Inverness is also a gateway for reaching the Western Highlands and Argyllshire. Ben Nevis (Britain’s highest peak), also hosts a vast array of outdoor activities.

Our base in Fortrose is the home of Chanonry Point, a fabulous place for spotting dolphins and seals. The Black Isle villages are picturesque and a visit to Cromarty with its beautiful buildings and history is an excellent afternoon out. Sea fishing and boat trips are available from Avoch and Cromarty. All the villages have restaurants and coffee shops for snacks and full meals.

From the far North of Scotland you have Thurso and Wick, John O’Groats and the northern Caithness coastline with it’s beautiful beaches and surfing opportunities. Coming down the west you have, sea lochs and cliffs around Ullapool and Gairloch and the gateway to Skye at Kyle of Lochalsh. Visit Skye for fantastic rugged landscapes and lots of places to stop over.

Oban the main town in the western highlands, home of Dunollie castle and McCaig’s Tower. Also a fishing port Oban has a superb selection of seafood restaurants, golf course, horse riding, distillery and sea fishing. Why not try ferry hopping? There are lots of points on the westcoast where you can visit the many fantastic and different Islands in the west of Scotland. Old Pulteney Distillery

Scotland is renowned throughout the world for its fine selection of Whisky. Why not embark on a journey of discovery whilst in the Highlands, visit some of the famous distilleries such as Old Pultney, Glenmorangie, Dalmore, Glen Ord, Dalwhinnie but to name a few.

Stunning Beaches:The Highlands of Scotland offer several instances of marvelous beaches.  Here is an example of a hidden paradise located on the back roads off the main A830 between Arisaig and Mallaig. The sand is stunning, very fine and white and pebble free with sparkling blue clear water, in fact it’s so blue it could easily mistaken for the Mediterranean. Visit the Highlands for some of the best untouched beaches in the UK if not the world. Great locations for sun bathing, relaxing and walking after a day hiking and climbing in the Scottish mountains…
